Armtec was proud to be chosen for the Oakville GO Transit Design/Build Parking Structure project. The building boasts 6 suspended levels; 1394 stalls including slab on grade and a precast roof.

Choosing precast concrete instead of CIP allowed the GC to perform more tasks at one time on the site and the precast components were manufactured off site resulting in fast efficient construction. Precast concrete columns, shearwalls and the TT’s were selected for quality control, the elements manufactured off site in a controlled environment; Higher Architectural Specifications – ‘Consultations with Town Officials and residents to ensure façade blended into surrounding neighborhood’; Precast erection schedule had to be timed to avoid GO Trains as the live tracks were only 30 feet from the new construction, some precast elements weighing up to 70,000 lbs.

Architectural Finishes: A visually striking exterior Façade was created utilizing various surface treatment including sandblasting and exposed aggregate, also a red pigment and white cement were used to accent the standard grey shade of concrete.
